Boost Mobile RockCorps Hits Hotlanta

After volunteering at a local organic garden and rec center with the Georgia Coalition of Hunger, myself and many other volunteers got rewarded with a ticket to one of 2007’s greatest concerts on June 9th at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. With artists like Eve, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne, Rich Boy, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and more, the show was a guaranteed hit. All this, hosted by Nick Cannon, not only felt like an earned event, but a feel-good, community gathering.

A drum line by Tri-Cities High School Drum Corp opened the show with militant efforts quickly followed by Rich Boy, Jim Jones, Huey and a few of their hype guys. Nick Cannon then introduced Eve who really got the party started.

Sporting latex pants with a mesh top and gold bandeau, Miss Eve was looking hot as ever. She performed a medley of songs including Rich Girl, Like This, Rock Star and more. Along with her sparkly dancers, Eve took control of the stage and left the crowd wanting more.

Rick Ross followed with performances like Blow, Pushin’ and Hustlin’ with a hip-hop protégé by his side. The boys proved why the Port of Miami is a top album across all dancefloors.

Lil Wayne was a crowd favorite, especially for the ladies! He and three friends rocked the house with a mix of beats from Make it Rain to Holla at Me to Back Dat Ass Up. He wasn’t kidding around with several stagehands at his side to provide water, grab his clothes he took off during the performance and made sure he was good-to-go during the event. Well…who can resist that golden smile?

Busta Rhymes did tons of shout-outs alongside Spliff, his spit partner. Busta brought it on with nearly a 20 song medley including I Love My Chick to In the Ghetto to Don’t Cha.

Closing out the show, Young Jeezy made sure everyone knew exactly why he has a top selling album and is also one of Boost Mobile’s Featured Artists. Billboard charted I Luv It turned the end of the Boost Mobile RockCorps show into a new beginning for the crowd who volunteered their time--the power of music through volunteerism is irreplaceable.

After the show, 2 lucky Boost VIP's got the chance to hang out backstage with the RockCorps artists and a won meet-n-greet with Young Jeezy! Inshirah and her friend couldn't have asked for more!
